Building stronger communities, one road at a time
K Cange an Mouvman is a non-profit organization which is focused on building roads in LaValle, Jacmel. We started this project in May 2022 and have made great progress. Our aim is to improve the short-term and long-term lives of residents.
We stand on the following 5 pillars:
Improving Access to Services
-
Safer roads mean better access to schools, hospitals, markets, and workplaces.
-
In rural or semi-urban areas, bad roads can isolate communities, making it hard to receive timely medical care or attend school regularly.
Boosting the Local Economy
-
Poor road conditions can limit economic growth. Transporting goods (especially agricultural products) becomes risky, slow, and expensive.
-
Better roads can attract small businesses and tourism, which are key opportunities for economic development in cities like Ka Cange.
Enhancing Emergency Response
-
In emergencies—natural disasters, fires, medical crises—safe, accessible roads are vital for rescue and response teams to reach those in need quickly.
Encouraging Community Growth and Investment
-
People are more likely to invest in homes or businesses when infrastructure is solid.
-
Safe roads build community pride and long-term development potential.
Environmental and Health Benefits
-
Improved roads can reduce dust and erosion, contributing to cleaner air and a healthier environment.
-
Encouraging safer transport options like walking or biking is also easier with proper road planning.

Our Story
Who We Are
K Cange an Mouvman is the braichild of individuals who were born in La Vallée, Jacmel. Today, we’re spread across the globe—in places like Florida, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and Haiti. No matter where life has taken us, La Vallée remains close to our hearts.
After years of dreaming and conversations, we've come together with a shared vision: to bring lasting change and opportunity to the community that shaped us.
But we can’t do it alone.
We’re calling on generous hearts near and far to join us. With your support, we can turn this vision into reality—not just for La Vallée, but for other communities in need as well.
